Inside the Claypot Rice

Set in a small town mom-and-pop Chinese-Canadian restaurant, Inside the Claypot Rice follows the Chow family as Jenny, their Toronto-restaurateur daughter, attempts to take over the business in hopes her parents will retire. However, decades of unspoken family secrets unfold as Jenny finds out what goes into her parent’s Signature Claypot rice.

Winner of the 2019/2020 Ellen Ross Stuart Award (Toronto Arts Foundation) with development support from Tarragon Theatre, Blyth Festival, and Hart House Theatre.
